Reflective Note

Growing up, I held on to the idea that I learned more from movies and TV than anything else. And in this regard, cinema had always been a friend and my liking for the medium only deepened as I grew older, learning more about its very, many layers and intricacies.

The rationale for choosing the topic surrounding the idea of Censorship is that in any course or class of Film studies or Film Theory, Censorship is an area that cannot be done away with. This is because Censorship essentially dictates or governs what can and cannot be shown on screen. As an extension, there are many intricacies, socio-cultural, socio-political factors that go behind the process of Censorship, and I believe understanding them is essential in comprehending, analysing and appreciating a feature film.
